據(jù)悉，英國(guó)早在60年代末期，就協(xié)助企業(yè)制訂了物流人才的培訓(xùn)計(jì)劃，組織了各類物流專業(yè)性的會(huì)議。到了70年代，正式組建了全英國(guó)管理協(xié)會(huì)。

英國(guó)多功能綜合物流中心體系的建立，對(duì)整個(gè)歐洲影響很大，也形成了英國(guó)綜合性的物流體制的現(xiàn)代化模式。英國(guó)開(kāi)設(shè)有物流專業(yè)的大學(xué)不少，但有些學(xué)校把物流專業(yè)劃分為管理類課程，而有些學(xué)校則將其納為工程類專業(yè)。

三大類物流專業(yè)

Transport：對(duì)將來(lái)在港口、海運(yùn)、空運(yùn)方面的就業(yè)會(huì)有所幫助;

Logistics / supply chain：對(duì)進(jìn)入物流公司有一定的好處;

Operations / supply chain：就業(yè)面更為廣闊，往往不限行業(yè)、不限公司性質(zhì)，但港口、海運(yùn)、空運(yùn)方面就很難插足。

根據(jù)專業(yè)設(shè)置的出發(fā)點(diǎn)，把該專業(yè)分為三類：

1、管理學(xué)

如果你傾向于管理學(xué)，就要選在這個(gè)領(lǐng)域頗有建樹(shù)的學(xué)校讀了。這類的學(xué)習(xí)主要涉及的是管理理念，管理方法和工具，案例分析等。較易入門。(曼大，利物浦，紐卡)

3、統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)

對(duì)建模和數(shù)學(xué)感興趣的同學(xué)，不妨考慮有工程學(xué)或者統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)傾向的供應(yīng)鏈專業(yè)(Lancaster，Cardiff，Cambridge，Cass，在數(shù)學(xué)和建模方面在學(xué)術(shù)界聲譽(yù)不錯(cuò))
